Hi Dan,

Thanks a lot for sharing this useful information. I had a SharePoint 2007 WSP that has been converted to Visual Studio 2010 solution and it contained Site columns created using CAML.

When I am deploying it onto SharePoint 2013, I do not find my site columns created in the Gallery. I had tough time in locating your blog :)

hi Chris
Do we need to follow the same procedure we used to follow fir moss to 2010 for migration?
Db detach and attach? Then running the wsp. Or is it necessary to covert the 2010 solution to 2013 for future enhancement and support.?
Any special care do we need tks take care of for converting 2010 to 2013 solution?

I agree! Using Reflector to dig into the SharePoint DLLs is quite valuable as a SharePoint Developer. Over the years, I've ran into a couple of issues using the SharePoint DLLs which made a whole lot more sense after reading the code causing the problems. Makes it much easier to deal with the issues when you know what's going on under the hood.
